20130205MLB_LAW_GA_House_Reps_0098_o4Do you want to explore potential careers in the field, network, build your resume and apply coursework you have completed? Political Science majors have the opportunity to fulfill these goals and obtain either elective or major credit for internship experiences.

Students must meet specific qualifications prior to enrollment in internship courses, as outlined here.

Find Your Internship

Explore a list of possible internship programs by clicking here. These internship providers are categorized by the following subheadings: Georgia Government, International, Law, Community Outreach, Media, Health and Business. This list is updated every year. Keep in mind that it is up to the student to secure an internship with an external provider and this list simply is a place to start. There are other possible internship providers.

One internship program of note is the Georgia Legislative Intern Program under the direction of Dr. Amy Steigerwalt. These are paid full-time internships open to all junior and senior college students of any major. Selected interns work during the legislative session in the spring semester. Interested students should complete an application and return it to the Political Science Department.

For more information about internship opportunities, contact your faculty advisor or the internship coordinator for the GSU Political Science Department, Dr. Christopher Brown.
