Jeffrey Lazarus is an Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University. His research focuses on Congress members’ strategic behavior both as candidates and as legislators. His published research examines legislative term limits, politicians’ decisions to enter races for office; congressional conference committees, the bills members write, and pork barrel spending. His research has appeared in American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Political Behavior and other journals. Currently, Dr. Lazarus is studying how gender influences Congress members’ legislative activity. A separate project examines Congress members and staffers who leave Capitol Hill to become lobbyists. Dr. Lazarus been at GSU since 2004, and earned his Ph.D. from UC San Diego.
