Do you want to earn credit towards a master’s (M.A.) degree in Political Science while still finishing your undergraduate (B.A.) degree? The 4+1 program may be just the option for you.

Designed for high-achieving GSU undergraduate students majoring in Political Science, the 4+1 program allows students to complete both their B.A. and M.A. degrees in just five years. You will be able to take graduate-level courses during your senior year.

To be considered for admission to the 4+1 program, undergraduate Political Science majors must:

  • Have a 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • Completed 90-100 hours of coursework.
  • Completed POLS 3800 (Research Methods).

Good news for students on the HOPE Scholarship. The HOPE Scholarship can apply — which is at the undergraduate rate — your first year of graduate study.

More information on the program is available here. The experiential learning form is Experiential Learning Application.
To discuss the program in more detail or to apply, contact Dr. Charles Hankla.
