GRADUATE FUNDING
Assistantships
A limited number of departmental assistantships are available on a competitive basis for incoming students. Assistantships provide a full tuition waiver along with an annual stipend.
With satisfactory progress through the program and with satisfactory performance as an assistant, students may receive up to four years of assistantship support. Students in the Direct-Admit Ph.D. program may receive a fifth year of funding if the budget permits.
Assistantship opportunities outside the department may be available for students not awarded a departmental assistantship. Interested students should contact the Director of Graduate Studies for more information.
Other Funding Opportunities
Applicants also can refer to the Graduate School website for additional funding opportunities for scholarships and graduate assistantships. Admitted students can access the university’s Handshake for information about assistantship and employment opportunities beyond the Political Science Department.
