PhD Candidate Sandoval Appointed as Venezuelan Ambassador to Honduras

GSU PhD Candidate in Political Science, Claudio Sandoval, has been appointed as the Ambassador of the Venezuelan Government in exile to Honduras. The appointment was granted by the government of Honduras on Feb. 1st, 2019. Mr. Sandoval’s research on the intersection of democracy and human rights in Latin America is a continuation of a professional experience in providing support to asylum seekers in the US and to victims of human rights violations in Colombia. The Obama administration officially acknowledge him as an emerging leader in civil society in 2010.

Mr. Sandoval’s placement is one of several official positions awarded to GSU Political Science alumni and students, including Mr. Vladimir Petrovic appointment as the Serbian Ambassador to the US in 2009. For a sample of our placement history please click here.
