Panel Discussion: Immigrants, Asylees & Refugees: How to get Involved
GSU Political Science Department and the Center for Human Rights and Democracy hosted a panel discussion on January 26, 2018 about the opportunities for students and scholars in the work of advocacy and social services for refugees, migrants and asylees. The panel featured: Amir Naim, chief litigator for GAIN (Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network); Priyanka Bhatt, Esq., chief lawyer for Project South’s Immigrant Rights Project; immigration attorney Maura Finn, Esq; Georgia Detention Watch’s Kevin Caron; and Lilianne Fan, International Director of Geutanyoe Foundation and Deputy Chair of Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (via skype). Dr. Chip Carey was the moderator.
