Study Abroad Opportunity: Peru, Maymester 2018
Are you interested in doing a study abroad program to Peru this Maymester through the Department of Political Science?
One of our newer professors, Dr. Hastings, is taking students to Cuzco, Peru from May 2 to 17, 2018.
The course works with the non governmental organization ProPeru on a project to construct fuel efficient stoves and water filters using low cost materials. While you work hard during the mornings and meet for class in the afternoons, you’ll have opportunities to explore the city and surrounding archaeological ruins, including a weekend trip to Machu Picchu. A special treat is getting to know your host families. While Spanish language skills are not required, if you speak Spanish, you will have ample opportunity to improve your skills.
Students with interests in international development work will find this program an experience of a lifetime. Graduate student welcome to apply for graduate credit.
Look up the program on the GSU study abroad website https://www.studyabroad.gsu.edu/ and contact Dr. Hastings at firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline to apply is February 15, and don’t forget to inquire about scholarship opportunities.
