Washington Post Features Richey’s New Book: Google and Democracy
Ever wondered how can Google affect democracy? GSU’s Dr. Sean Richey and Dr. J. Benjamin Taylor, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, tackle this interesting relationship in a new book entitled Google and Democracy: Politics and the Power of the Internet. The newly released book is featured in the Washington Post through an interview with the authors on the impact of Google as a “Gatekeeper” on American politics and direct democracy. The authors build a theory of Google Search use for ballot measures to offer readers new insights about the power of the internet as a valuable resource for citizens. The book is published by Routledge in 210 pages and currently available by major bookstore chains and online booksellers.
